Join us for an engaging and informative 2-hour workshop where you'll learn the essentials of pressure canning—a must-have skill for anyone interested in preserving food at home. Learning how to master the art of pressure canning will transform your pantry.

A lot of those tinned products you see at the supermarket can be replaced with your own, healthier versions at home. Pre-cooked chickpeas, kidney beans, stocks, curries, stews and soups - all sitting on your shelf ready to go!

Whether you're new to canning or looking to refresh your knowledge, this workshop will provide you with the confidence and know-how to safely and effectively pressure can a variety of foods.

In this hands-on session, we will cover:

  • The Science of Pressure Canning: Understanding how pressure canning works, why it's necessary for low-acid foods, and the differences between pressure canning and water bath canning.

  • Equipment Essentials: A detailed overview of the tools and materials you'll need, including pressure canners, jars, lids, and other canning accessories.

  • Step-by-Step Process: Guided instructions on how to prepare, fill, and seal jars, set up your pressure canner, monitor pressure levels, and safely process your canned goods.
